What's next for the election in Baltimore City - the election is not done until every vote is counted. …morecityboardofelections.substack.com/p/finishing-st…

I am devastated to learn of the death of Timothy Cartwell, the second DPW worker to die in the line of duty in recent months. Every worker deserves to know that they’ll return home safely each day. I’m committed to working with Councilmembers Glover, Schleifer and the entire City

Baltimore's drop in homicides - 23% since last year and a staggering 40% from two years ago - should be a national story. Mayor Scott's Group Violence Reduction Strategy, which prioritizes resources to those most at risk and community engagement, should be studied and replicated.

No. In the middle of one of the worst housing crises nationwide, with Democrats fully in power to solve that problem, governing based on feelings is a perfect example of why we're in the mess we are.

A poll released by The Washington Post & Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement (CDCE) revealed that 74% of MD voters oppose the proposed $200M budget cut that supports people w/ dev. disabilities. This proposed cut is the least popular of Wes Moore's budget actions. buff.ly/3WF6IPb #SaveOurDDServices

Voting news: Murphy proposed dedicating $1 million in grants to school districts and municipalities that allow 16- and 17-year-olds to vote in school board elections. The money would be used for voter education, relevant IT expenditures, and other related spending

I haven't been on here much lately, but I spent the last few months reporting this story for KQED. There was a lot of buzz last year about 16- and 17-year-olds being able to vote for the first time in Berkeley and Oakland. Here's how it went down: kqed.org/news/12028120/…

We had the opportunity to observe this workshop and were deeply impressed with how Baltimore County Board of Elections and other counties across the state are taking emergency planning so seriously. And congrats to The Elections Group for putting on a great workshop.
