The 1’s played their first home game against Burnham-on-Sea CC Some great bowling & a great catch from D Toft restricted Burnham to 205-9 with 3 wks from C Wadham Some impressive batting from C Street 81no, D Worthington 54 & J Lane 48 saw us over the line with 12 overs remaining

A great weekend for NNCC with the 1’s, 2’s & u13s all making it 3/3 1’s beat Weston 2’s by 3 wks with Stone & Street both making 50’s & A White seeing us home with 36no 2’s beat Street 2’s by 6 wks with a M Barham Snr 50 & T White with 45 u13s beat local rivals North Petherton

Midweek results; Under 11’s had a great win against Wembdon Cricket Club 2’s couldn’t quite get over the line, losing to Ashbrittle in the minor cup 1’s chased down a competitive 153 against Huntspill Cricket 🏏 with 5 overs to spare as Street, Worthington and Stone continued their fine form

We are shocked and saddened to hear about North Petherton CC’s player Mondli Khumalo ending up in hospital.Our whole club has our fingers crossed that he will be back in a cricket field soon.

The 1’s got back to winning ways on Sat vs West Monkton CC A Girardin with a fine 72 whilst wickets fell at the other end & a tail that kept wagging brought Newton up to 196-9 After some tight bowling from C Wadham (7-3-8-2) & a 4 from C Barrington, WMCC were all out for 102

The 2’s lost narrowly against Compton DundonCC A W Gadsby 40 brought Newton to 152-9 off the 40 overs. This wasn’t quite enough with CDCC getting home with a ball to spare despite 3 wickets from J Waterman. Well done to the u11’s and u13’s who once again had big wins!

Result Update (1/2) A rain effected day meant both mens teams ended in a draw on Saturday. 1’s bowled Minehead out for 150 and were cruising at 119-5 when the rain came. 2’s were chasing 173 and were 75-4 when the rain began.

Result Update 2/2 The u11’s & u13’s both won to continue their great seasons so far Last night the 1’s played @wiveycricket in the cup. Wivey battled back well to post 150 off the 20 C Street (80 off 34 balls) batted brilliantly to chase the target down with 8 overs to spare

We are deeply saddened on the tragic passing of Barnaby Webber. We had the pleasure of playing against Barnaby recently and got to witness what a polite, well mannered young man he was as well as an excellent cricketer. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates.
