ICYMI: Yesterday, Seattle City Council unanimously passed my Complete Streets ordinance, which will require the SDOT to build new and repair existing sidewalks throughout the city. This is a long overdue investment in our communities. More here: council.seattle.gov/2023/12/12/sea…

Shoutout for #WeekWithoutDriving, created by @AnnaZivarts at Disability Rights WA Disability Mobility Initiative, in very interesting interview with Ron Brooks of Accessible Avenue on paratransit, the ADA, more. podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6L… #MobilityJustice #MoveEquity #accessibility #transit #paratransit #ADA

With a new ordinance approved earlier this month, the City of Seattle is beginning to address Seattle’s lack of adequate sidewalks. Advocates from Disability Mobility Initiative shared with Guy Oron why it’s not enough to solve Seattle’s sidewalk problem. realchangenews.org/news/2023/12/2…

2 nondrivers and 1 transit rider (and sometimes chauffeur) in Olympia supporting transit rider representation (HB 2191) yesterday ! Disability Mobility Initiative

Flooded sidewalks is a choice we make when we invest solely in car infrastructure. Listen to Amara's story in the latest video in Disability Mobility Initiative sidewalk series @AnnaZivarts Seattle Department of Transportation Mayor Bruce Harrell Seattle City Council Greg Spotts

Thank @realchangenews.bsky.social & vendors for letting me join your organizing meeting and sharing your transit stories! Whether it's sidewalks, streetcars, ebike access or benches, the next levy needs to focus on a transportation system for people not cars Disability Mobility Initiative

Is this a pothole? I'm calling it a pothole. See any broken sidewalks in Seattle? Send us a pic with the location for Disability Mobility Initiative new Seattle sidewalk story map. Upload them here: tinyurl.com/Sdotspotholes @AnnaZivarts

A sustainable, equitable transportation system benefits everyone while a back-to-basics transportation plan will continue to leave communities and our climate behind. Tell Mayor Bruce Harrell & Seattle City Council we need a levy that invests in our entire city! actionnetwork.org/letters/move-s…
