1) High Leg Lift delays Weight Shift, helps the arm be on time 2) Footballs = Plyo Balls…helps with Sequencing 3) Resistance Training puts the body back to Neutral 4) Similar to Kinesiotape, just a customized sensory reminder 5) Mantras = Consistency 6) Video helps REAL vs FEEL

2026 LHP/1B Alex Scheuermann showing 4 Pitch Shapes here. Polished Lefty with way more in the tank. The Bat plays as well. Sees the ball deep with loud pop.

The Throwing Hand is in orbit of the glove, but it’s not connected like he’s wearing handcuffs. In Baseball, we don’t catch with “Two Hands”. Also, this is GREAT FEET. Although “ATTACK” is the most common action, players don’t truly practice reading hops.

The best Hitting Position you can flow through during your swing. It can’t & shouldn’t be duplicated by standing still or “Still Posturing”. It’s dependent on the movements prior in order to attain. Old School would call this “Keeping Your Hands Back”

We teach kids to hit the ball way too far out in front. Leads to Hitters with less time & less hitting zone. Leads to Pitchers relying too much on Curveballs. Leads to Coaches telling hitters to NOT SWING at Curveballs. Leads to Under-Developed Hitters & Under-Developed Pitchers

Hand Load Similar to a 2nd Baseman’s Double Play Turn. Hands must be on the Up Slope while you’re still Stacked through your Back Leg. It counters the Forward Move (Weight Shift & Back Leg/Pelvis/Core Rotation). Timing is crucial. Find by Exaggerating. Master by Condensing.

Hand Loading Be on the Up Stroke as you Shift Weight and Drive Into The Ground. If not, makes it very difficult to Launch From The Rear…means you can’t “let it get deep” and you’ll be Stabbing at the ball. Timing of your Hand Load is a Feel with plenty of False Positives.

Pay Attention. We tend to fixate on Gaining Velocity. So it seems logical to get hyped up, move as fast as possible, and then practice throwing the hell out of the ball. But that’s NOT going to correlate or win. MOVING EFFICIENTLY, on the other hand, gains velocity and WINS!

NOCA DUDE / 13U Mentor This kid is wired different. Go look at his swing from a year ago. Constantly evolving his swing to match his body, eyes, & cues. Hitting Sessions are built around his Feedback. Does your kid “Take Lessons” or does he “Drive Feedback?”

Get In The Ground, Then Fire! On guys that throw harder or just have more RIDE on their fastball, Get In The Ground Sooner. Also, notice the Wrists cock the bat before the torso rotates. This how you STAY CONNECTED once you swing and also prevents Barrel Dumping/Missing Under.

Work on a Tight Turn inside your Swing: Wrists hold in a Cocking Position Bat Head comes from behind Torso Compact & Flexed Back Arm Barrel feels like it’s working Down Also, the movements prior to this will determine if you can Turn Tight. So don’t practice in a vacuum.

The best description of hitting: “The pitcher has 3 chances to throw balls close enough for me to hit, but not hit my bat.” Does it sound like he’s scared of 2 Strikes, Striking Out, or even Getting Out? …and hitting the ball at a defender isn’t Failure

Chito Martinez will forever be attached to New Orleans Baseball, but he’s made even bigger impacts: NOCA takes teams to play in Dominican Republic & Cuba. While researching Belize, we read an article at their airport… Chito is the only MLB Player in the history of Belize!

This is great for Coaches to watch. When you Self-Assess and address players after a game, are you really just BLAMING? And do you ever include yourself (Coaching) as an area that fell short and needs improvement? If any of the above is true, Coaching may not be your path.

Not bad info, just way too much and should be simpler. Command is best achieved from Visualizing the Shape of the Pitch & then Seeing your actual Pitch Shape. Staring at a Target is likely hurting you. See Maddux: Is he looking at the Target? Where’s his mind at this point?
