What I’ll always remember about Jim Irsay is that he took chances on people long term and kept them around. It was a family atmosphere within the organization, always. My thoughts are with Kalen, Casey, Carlie, and the rest of the Irsay’s. #RIPJimIrsay

I’m so grateful to have been able to tour the ABC7 Eyewitness News building twice before being hired as a sports intern. Those opportunities wouldn’t have been possible without Ellen Leyva. She is as genuine off camera as she is on. A wonderful human being who deserved this incredible sendoff.

My days as a kid were spent watching tv at home after school. “Sports Science” was one of the shows in weekly rotation. John Brenkus was truly a savant in his craft. This is yet another figure taken from us too soon. Do not feel like you’re alone if you need help. #RIPJohnBrenkus

Fitting that in June, Brian Wilson leaves this earth. “God Only Knows” is of the best songs ever produced. I’m heartbroken for his family, his friends, and anyone who knew him. Thank you for my coming-of-age life, Brian Wilson. The Beach Boys are everything. #LoveandMercy

Day one and I’m already on the air! This is just the start to what I want to be a prosperous time in Portland. I wrote the intro that Tim Lantz voiced and did some quick research to put this piece together! Thanks to Jordan Vawter for including it at the start of the 5pm hour!

From yesterday: I joined Tim Lantz for his “Talker” segment. The subject was to admit you liked movies/TV shows that weren’t necessarily highly praised. I proudly proclaimed my adolescent love for “Racing Stripes”. I’m fitting in just fine here at KXL News. Onward and upward.

Today was another opportunity for me to be part of KXL News’s “Talker” segment with Tim Lantz! I gave my thoughts on cursing (speaking on behalf of millennials). Whether it was a snafu with my microphone or making Tim laugh, I had a blast. Perks of helping produce the show!

Here’s a quick “Talker” to end my week with ⁦Tim Lantz on ⁦KXL News⁩. The topic was if we are dog lovers or cat lovers. My evolution of growing up with a dog to unofficially adopting two cats has my “furry friend” world going both ways for me!

I’ve been off the last couple of days from KXL News, but I wanted to share the sports update I did about the return of Damian Lillard to #RipCity. I also got to blurb Chris Paul’s reunion with the #Clippers. I still pinch myself that I can be on the radio in a major market!

Thanks to John Canzano for the shoutout on his show! My first day working the phones and I already feel at home. I can’t wait for more chances and make the most of my opportunities here in the Rose City!

Between this and the Marlins coming back to beat the Yankees, this has been a banner day in MLB. We’ll never see anything like this ever again.
