I’ve been looking for Anaglyptus mysticus for the last two springs with no joy. Today I stumbled across one in my parents’ garden! National Longhorn Beetle Recording Scheme

Failed to find any Hazel Pot Beetles at Sherwood today, but longhorns made up for it! Three each of Poecilium alni and Pogonocherus hispidulus, plus plenty of Wasp Beetles National Longhorn Beetle Recording Scheme

The past few days have been eventful, tracking down historic records of an incredibly secretive LHB, Lamia textor. Unfortunately no definite signs as yet. Hopefully, when a population is located, some conservation measures can be put in place.

Today Bristol, although there isn't much hope for the survival of Lamia there as the habitats have changed so much. Sometimes it's worth ruling places out to focus efforts elsewhere. How many other LHB will be about?
