It's not a great era for 'independent orientalists'. The economies of these places are run by horizontally-integrated family enterprises, usually aligned to the military or some demagogue. Many places in Asia can't be easily reduced to 'China 30 years ago'. You are going to be

In 2018, I said there was something seriously wrong with Jordan Peterson. A tough time to be a lobster skeptic. The response from everyone was the same—spiteful and angry. It doesn’t bother me any more as I know I’m never wrong, just too early for others to handle.

Twenty years ago, this would've been true. But not in 2024. 4.5% swing, and Labour lose their majority. 7.5%, and the Tories become the largest party. Marginal seats are now much more elastic than safe seats, so it's likely the swing required in both cases is even smaller.

There are 45 seats with a majority of <2%. 115 with a majority of <5%. *223* with a majority of <10%. Half the electoral map is in play for 4 different parties.

Without honest and accurate data there is no real democracy. If we aren't given the facts, how are people supposed to make their minds up? There has been a concerted campaign of secrecy around how uncontrolled mass immigration has impacted our country. From social housing, to

Only in Britain's communist healthcare system could the authorities increase the number of medical students but "forget" to increase the number of training programmes (and also allow non UK doctors to apply for places in those training programmes)

Social housing has not been "for everyone" since the 1977 Housing Act introduced strict prioritisation criteria based on "assessed need". This means that no working person can access social housing without extenuating circumstances. You are gaslighting young people.

NEW: Socialism tends to shrink the economic pie. But is this merely a by-product of the system - or its very motor? Toby Guise argues for the latter: an active reduction in quantity of available resources - 'de-growth' - enormously increases the leverage of Socialist commissars.
