Check out my new paper on our GBT survey of the HALOGAS galaxy sample. The tldr: no evidence for accreting neutral gas. What does that mean? More telescope time plz! arxiv.org/abs/1808.02041

With all pilot survey data on disk we look forward to seeing lots of exciting science in the coming months. Now data processing begins in earnest at Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre

My story on my trip to Lake Geneva. After months of isolating, it was striking to see so many people walking around with no masks and making little effort at social distancing: jsonline.com/story/news/202… via Journal Sentinel

Hi World - A new discovery I've been working on for several years now is finally out! We discovered ionized gas close to the center of the Milky Way in optical light using WHAM (Wisconsin H-Alpha Mapper)! advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/27/e…

Awesome new paper by my PhD student, Jack Livingston, using complexity of Faraday rotation to probe small scale fluctuations in the magnetised-ionised medium around the Milky Way's Centre. arxiv.org/abs/2102.01139

Check out the movies featured in my talk from the #SKAprecursor SKA_telescope conference showing off the latest #GASKAP neutral hydrogen images of the Small Magellanic Cloud and nearby Stream #astronomy #space #science #cosmos #astrophysics

And the Stream field. The filament in the upper right at ~200 km/s has a linewidth < 10 km/s. Assuming the same distance to the SMC, it's almost 800 pc long and < 100 pc wide! And of course it's almost at the edge of the ASKAP's massive field-of-view 🙄

“It was surprising to see just how clear this image was. We were able to see small-scale structures for the first time.” #ANUExpert Dr. Nickolas Pingel led the team that captured this stunning image, but can you guess what it is? 📷🤔🌌 📖 bit.ly/324qxGn
