Extremely pleased to finally see this out in Imaging Neuroscience! We show that OPM-MEG with whole-head coverage can reliably reconstruct spectral power and functional connectivity. Great collaboration between Princeton Neuroscience Institute and SPMIC MEG at UoN!
Huge congratulations to Prof Matthew Brookes UoN Physics & Astronomy and Honorary Prof Dr Simon Grant UoN Chemistry who have been recognised in the King's New Year Honours 2024. Find out more here ➡️: ow.ly/ui1A50Qmxv2 #WeAreUoN #NYHonours #NewYearHonours Nottingham Research
Very well deserved, it is a privilege to work alongside Matt and the team! A bright future ahead 🥳Matthew Brookes MEG at UoN SPMIC UoN Physics & Astronomy Cerca Magnetics Limited
Thrilled to see the impact of our £45m quantum investment at Cerca Magnetics Limited! Their cutting-edge work on a functional brain scanner is a beacon of hope for those battling neurological diseases. A glimpse into the future of healthcare innovation 🏥 🥼

Extremely honoured to receive an OBE this week from HRH The Princess Royal. Massive thanks to all my colleagues and collaborators, especially everyone at SPMIC UoN Physics & Astronomy Cerca Magnetics Limited and Vishal Shah To everyone in MEG at UoN, past & present, this should be yours, not mine!
.Prof. Tom Crick from Department for Culture, Media and Sport visited SPMIC today to find out how wearable MEG technology is being used in research looking into how concussion affects the brain UoN Physics & Astronomy Matthew Brookes MEG at UoN
On behalf of the spectacular Mark Woolrich WIN-OHBA at the University of Oxford is recruiting a new post-doc to develop machine learning methods for analysing data from MEG data, including from our new OPM-MEG scanner. See here for more details: my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecruit…
Our new paper is now out on Quantum Science & Technology! Magnetic gradiometers are the preferred sensor of MEG users, so we have built a truly intrinsic axial OPM gradiometer to match this need. It also happens to be my first first-author paper! Hope you enjoy! iopscience.iop.org/article/10.108…
Extremely happy to see this published in eLife, by the wonderful Lukas Rier and Natalie Rhodes !!! It shows the neurodevelopmental trajectory of beta 'oscillations' (and bursts!!), measured using OPM-MEG Vishal Shah Cerca Magnetics Limited SPMIC UoN Physics & Astronomy elifesciences.org/articles/94561
Fabulous to see the final shiny version of our paper out in eLife - the journal! doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… Natalie Rhodes
