We are pleased to welcome back @RobinSwann_MLA as Health Minister. In his 5 year strategy for tackling elective care waiting lists Minister Swann recognised the valuable role GPECS brings to achieving this. We look forward to continuing to support the Minister with this plan

Since Nov 18 over 65,000 patients have been seen for a range of non complex elective procedures in our service. These figures are symbolic of the successful role primary care can play in supporting transformation. Delivering cost effective local solutions to waiting lists.

Well done to our clinical lead for Vasectomy Dr Joe Devlin. A superb example of how a service that was historically delivered in secondary care can be delivered more efficiently, more cost effective and more convenient for patients in primary care.

I spent a morning with GPECS learning some skills in community surgery. >8000 vasectomies completed in a few years. Definitely a quality team and great service for patients languishing on waiting lists. What next? Carpal tunnel? Investment in GP led services required!
