If you want kids to love reading - LET THEM READ THINGS THEY LOVE! By all means, encourage them to read books that you think are great, but please never dismiss their own choices. Because the books we choose and love ourselves are the ones that really make us readers! #literacy

I totally support the National Year Of Reading. We desperately need a culture of reading for pleasure to replace the culture of constant tests in schools, backed by proper government funding. And we need STORYTIME to be part of the school day, every day! (Art chris riddell)

READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children’s life chances. So whatever else you do, please never stop helping kids find books to read & love. Never stop sharing books, talking about books, celebrating books. It'll change their lives! #literacy
