"[The government] can't just continue as a bystander." Environmental campaigner Jonathon Porritt says the UK's decision to proscribe Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act defies public opinion.

Seth Frantzman Why? Seth Frantzman look at where Israel is now globally. Gen Z is not going to forget this. Millennials are not going to forget this. So what happens? The boomers die, then Israel is on its own. No support from America, no funding, a global pariah state with no natural resources.

Bloody hell. Even a majority of COALITION voters back the Net Zero target: "32 per cent of Coalition voters back the notional target, 29 per cent oppose it and the highest proportion, 39 per cent, unsure or undecided." #Auspol smh.com.au/politics/feder…

Peter FitzSimons 2/3rds of the country voted AGAINST the COALition at the last Federal election with their dodgy policies & candidates...... so they double down on the SAME policies ..... They learn nothing..... .... and deserve the consequences of that

Even coalition voters can look out the window and see what’s happening. It’s just coalition politicians (and not even all of them) who look determinedly away.

absent the actual data on what is collected from whom and that data being given to the public to make sense of, what I ask is the purpose of discussing something which we don't understand. It's a simple proposition that we need to collect enough revenue to

balance the budget, but discussing nothing will result in nothing. A great example of this is the proposition of reducing company Tax. Well interesting because of the absence of data presented to make any sort of decision. There is data on Business entities who earn over $100 M

per annum. The actual data shows the following. Since 2013-4 to 2022-23 24,328 entities have submitted returns to the ATO. Their total Revenue was $21.639 trillion. Their Taxable income was $2.466 trillion (11.31% of total income) and their tax paid was $585.3 Billion, an average

rate of tax paid of 23.92% (The company Tax rate is 30%). Of the 24,328 entities only 17,690 had taxable income and paid the amount of tax referred to above. The rest had no taxable income. This is real data. So what does it show? That 6,638 entities over the period earned

$3.869 trillion and didn't pay any tax. I looked at a sliver of those non Tax payers and they include the Gas industry. Of 52 Gas entities over the period, they earned $147.8 billion and had taxable income of $917 million and paid $3.147 million. (paid by Santos in 2013-14).

This is the debate we should be having, not the petty nit picking dross from the #insiders program. End of Thread. A previous analysis of this with associated spreadsheet can be found at thevogfiles.com/taxing-times.h…
