I am closing off this first sequence with Neil McIntyre and Chasing the Deer. Sumptuous production, superb photography, the best of all deer photographers, equally wise and beautiful writing. sandstonepress.square.site/product/chasin…

Hey Twitter, we need your help. Between rising print costs and low sales, May was an awful month for us following a tough few years during the pandemic. If just half our lovely followers bought a Sandstone book, it would change everything for us. sandstonepress.square.site

Last week the British Wildlife Photography Awards were announced and I was delighted to have “Stag by the Loch Side” win the habitat category. So many amazing images this year, congratulations to the other winners and all who made it into the BWPA book 👏🏻.British Deer Society (BDS) Scottish Gamekeepers

Sadly there are several reasons that the capercaillie have reached the perilous state they are now in.However there is one we could stop now & that’s human disturbance. Wildlife photographers, bird watchers, walkers, mountain bikers, dog walkers, please just give the caper space.

Interesting that a Green Party minister is promoting the destruction of an iconic Scottish species, by removing selective management.

Just to remind you that the proposal to remove the closed season for deer is being considered next week. You can help stop it by signing this petition. shorturl.at/sRZ58

Hard to think of finer looking animal IMHO and I know many more think the same. Sadly Lorna Slater & others want to make it legal to shoot this animal 365 days a year, day & night. If you haven't already please sign Edward Mountain petition to voice your disgust at this proposal.
