So Cunha is on the verge of signing for Man U. I’m amazed this is still seen as good move. Without being an arse, apart from Bruno Fernandes, I’m genuinely struggling to think of another, established, player in recent years, that has enhanced their reputation since going there.

So, it appears that Trump and Musk have fallen out. Who would have thought that could happen, between two over-indulged rich kids, with rampant egomania & proven track records of endless failed personal & business relationships?

Remember that turgid, mass-produced, ersatz ‘blue eyed soul’ that Stock, Aitken & Waterman produced in the late 80’s? It now has a derivative bastard offspring which appears as incidental music in cooking shows featuring Nadia Hussain or Nigella Lawson; ‘Fauxtown’?

My local town has a new ‘B&M Home & Gardens’ store. You know the chase scenes in Scooby Doo, where they went past the same furniture repeatedly? It’s like that but with tinned meat & Kebab shop condiments instead of Grandfather clocks.

Decided to address a 30+ year hole in my musical knowledge by given Durutti Column a try. I’m genuinely sad to report that I was rather underwhelmed.

There’s an old episode of ‘Lewis’ on the telly. Did Kevn Whatleys’ character always have that piss-poor, semi-West Country ‘Mummerset’ accent? Ironic, seeing how badly done Geordie accents so often are on screen.

I was being a little provocative a week or so back when I asked in any established player (apart from Bruno Fernandes and possibly Luke Shaw) had enhanced their reputation since joining Man U post Ferguson. But on reflection, I genuinely am struggling to think of any others.

Watching 2 extremely wealthy, powerful sociopaths, falling out, then trading insults & pouting like a couple of angry 5 year olds, WAS actually on my bingo card.

Is the surname ‘Murtaugh’ (pronounced ‘Murt-off’) very common in the US? I’m guessing it’s probably of Irish origin? There are innumerable TV show characters called it (like ‘Kowalski’) but after 30 years in the NHS & thousands of patients, I don’t think I’ve ever met one.

On a stupid whim, i just put that ‘40 hits of 1985’ on the Telly. Just in time for the chorus bit of ‘Tarzan boy’ by Baltimora, and now I’m going to have it stuck in my head. Last time it essentially took until about 2003 to get rid of it.

It was a brave chase from Somerset & an entertaining game but bloody hell! The music at Taunton was dire. That bloody shite Mexican trumpet thing, that weird ‘Day-oh’ chant and then fecking ‘Sweet Caroline’ on repeat. At least they didn’t play ‘Freed from desire’
