North East Heritage Library Saw many bands there, Lemonheads, Soup Dragons, Spearhead, Blur, Spiritualized, Happy Mondays and many more small indie bands. The ceiling would drip sweat it got so hot and sticky. Loved it.

North East Heritage Library Yes! The funniest graffiti I ever saw. In cultured and slightly apologetic writing, on the wall of the Gents in the late 90’s. ‘I know this isn’t terribly PC, but “World Music”, it isn’t very good, is it?’

North East Heritage Library I remember (only just mind you) seeing China Drum here, I did a stage dive missed everyone and landed on my head. I think the only thing that saved me was the amount of drink I consumed. Also seen Silversun here.

Morning! A new week comes with two new entries to the site - the fabled Riverside venue on Melbourne Street and the razed Barley Mow - locked in ruined statis. Both feature a full history and maps as ever. Have a good one. northeastheritagelibrary.co.uk/grid

Morning all. Incredibly, despite the full clearance of buildings here, Pandon Bank retains a certain similarity and it's easy to pick out where this large villa house stood. This was the site of the Home for Destitute Boys in the 19th century, but was previously Pandon House -
