Today 1st June 2025 took place a workshop at University of Rwanda Remera Campus under the AFRETEC Project titled “ Improving Digital Education &Learning Innovation in the South African & Rwandan teacher Education Systems.

Trainers were faculty members from Wits University, SA: Prof. Juliet Perumal, Prof. Leketi Makalela, Prof. Emmanuel Ojo &Prof. Reuben Dlamini &Rwandan counterparts: Dr. Innocent Twagilimana, Assoc. Prof. Epimaque Niyibizi, Assoc. Prof. Irenee Ndayambaje &Dr. Olivier Habimana.

Now Rwanda National Commission for UNESCO (CNRU), in partnership with the UNESCO Eastern Africa and Kenyatta University #ExperienceKU held a Virtual Workshop on LEAD-ESD Project Overview and Institutional Engagement, This workshop aims to brief key education officials from nominated institutions on the Leadership for ESD Project

This project will be conducted in 6 months, where UNESCO Eastern Africa committed the extension of this project with the aim of collaboration toward advancing SDG 4.7 and LEAD-ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in Rwanda.

Today, REB joined education leaders in a virtual briefing workshop under the LEAD-ESD Project a @UNESCO_EastAfrica initiative with Kenyatta University. The workshop centered on goal to empower educators & institutions to integrate #ESD & #SDG4_7 into teaching,leadership & policy.

Speaking on behalf of Rwanda's education sector, Ngoga Fixer Eugene thanked everyone: "Now is the time for every institution to take ownership and walk this journey together. Let us form communities of practice at all levels, work hand in hand,&turn commitment into sustainable action."
