We are so excited to cheer Yuval Raphael on tomorrow in the #Eurovision finale! Yuval survived the Oct 7 attacks at the Nova music festival. Her song, New Day Will Rise, is an inspiration for all of us to rise again after tragedy. We wish her the best of luck. Shabbat Shalom!

Getting inspired by @ferrellzabala of Moms Demand Action as she headlines our opening session! “People are capable of so much more than they know, but they don’t find that out alone. They find it out in community.”

Thank you to civil rights leader Shaylyn Cochran of @lawyerscomm for talking to us about the importance of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. “If we only advocated for change when it seemed likely to happen, we would not have made the progress we have.”

Getting a powerful briefing from advocacy giant, Anna Aurilio on the American Family Act. “Child poverty is not an unsolvable problem. In a world where so many problems are unsolvable, the Child Tax Credit solves child poverty.”

Today, I met with several New Jersey members from the National Council of Jewish Women in my DC office. We had an important discussion on our shared commitment to advancing maternal health and well-being while also promoting policies that support women, children, and families

I’m heartbroken by the antisemitic attack in my beloved DC community. We mourn for those killed tonight, and our hearts are with their families and the entire Jewish community. Antisemitism is deadly and must be condemned unequivocally by all who claim to stand against hate.

We grieve for Sarah and Yaron, and we hold their families in our hearts. We mourn them alongside the Jewish people and all who stand against hate. Antisemitism has no place here. Not now. Not ever. May their memories be for a blessing.

Sarah Milgrim worked closely with NCJW in her role at the Israeli Embassy. Many of us were touched by her commitment to peace, and we will continue to pursue it in her memory. We hope you will too. 💙 May Sarah’s memory be for a blessing. Shabbat Shalom.
