1/4 In my syndicated column today, I announce a name change for NC IOPL — but no change in its mission. Indeed, we’re doubling down on it. Since 1988, IOPL has trained more than 1,200 North Carolinians to serve in various roles in #ncpol and policy.

I am appalled by reports of the assassination of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, as well as the attempted assassination of Senator John Hoffman and his wife. Political violence threatens our democracy and has no home in America. My heart goes out
