Today, we remember Valerie Harper. Best known for her iconic roles as Rhoda Morgenstern on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show'. She was a talented actress and a dedicated advocate for social causes. She passionately supported the farm worker movement.

Jessie De La Cruz dedicated her life to La Causa, becoming one of its first women organizers. Her journey began in the harsh world of migrant labor, where she overcame exploitation, including the grueling work with the short-handled hoe "el cortito," which she later helped ban.
