This is a great report on long-duration energy storage (and excellent use of a thread for the highlights). Climate Change Committee has fed in some evidence. LDES is now one of the most interesting aspects of the energy transition - and central to our energy security.

We welcome the Lords Science & Technology Committee report into long-duration energy storage (LDES). As well as providing back-up when the ‘sun doesn’t shine and wind doesn’t blow,’. publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld5804/ldse…

LDES supports higher volumes of low-cost renewable energy integrated into the grid to bring down bills. LDES can take 7-10 years to build so Energy UK supports the Committee’s call to ‘Get on with it’.
