Just the Facts Jack: Soybean Planting Date, Seeding Rate, Pre-Herbicide Timing, and Seed Treatment Recommendations Rodrigo Werle coolbean.info/2024/04/02/jus…

Today was the kickoff of the Naeve Lab’s 2024 field work. This on-farm intensification study aims to answer whether it is possible to take advantage of cover crops or double crops with soybean in Minnesota. Seth Naeve @AnibalCerrudo MaiquelPes UMN Soybean Research Center

Yesterday, we had a small window with good weather conditions between rains to allow planting here at Saint Paul Campus. We were able to plant two of our studies: Planting date and Critical Period. Seth Naeve @AnibalCerrudo UMN Soybean Research Center

After four long days this week and many hundreds of plots, we were able to put in the ground many of our trials in different locations across the state of Minnesota. Seth Naeve @AnibalCerrudo UMN Soybean Research Center @DavidKeeMN

We completed the third of four planting dates yesterday in our On-farm intensification study. It looks good so far. In this study we are investigating the feasibility and economic viability of cover crops and double cropping in Minnesota.Seth Naeve @DavidKeeMN UMN Soybean Research Center

Dr Cerrudo explains our On-farm Attainable Yield project (funded by MN Soybean Research & Promotion Council ) We need a couple of more MN farmers to participate. Your assistance requires almost no effort, hassle, or cost to you. Please contact me. We’d appreciate a chance to work with you.

Our researchers across the country are conducting trials to help farmers enhance the profitability of #soybeans after cover crops. Hear more from @SethNaeve about our project with IowaSoybeans and United Soybean Board #ScienceforSuccess

Harvesting soybeans too late could cause shattering and yield loss, but too early could cause storage problems or discounts at delivery. We're researching harvest timings to answer questions about ideal timing and soybean quality. United Soybean Board Seth Naeve Laura Lindsey

Today the visiting professor at Naeve’s Lab, Dr. Anibal Cerrudo gave a great talk about Critical Period for Soybean at the APG Seminar at UofM. If you are more interested, you can check out the recently published paper by Dr. Cerrudo and Seth Naeve. sciencedirect.com/science/articl….
