On my way home from Sandwell Hospital, spotted >8 #nitrousoxide cylinders by the A41….bumped into a local “I didn’t know what the stuff was, loads of it round here. I heard of teenager with neurological probs because of it” No prizes for guessing which Dr will have seen her 🤷‍♂️

…in fact a total of 22 #nitrousoxide cylinders on A41 to M5 Jn 2 (& another 1 at Jn 4)….there is no pavement so this will be from #drugdriving which is unbelievably dangerous (see this 👇) but difficult to prove as the new law focuses on ‘inhalation’ Good luck police!

The curiosity of young people is amazing and shouldn’t be stifled. However, it is society’s responsibility to empower them with knowledge as you mention, so that curiosity does not result in harm to themselves. But a national PSHE strategy for #nitrousoxide is still absent…

Last week, the first nitrous oxide training session was delivered to Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers by Devan Mair and Arifur Rahman. The training, a partnership with the council a d Queen Mary University, tackles the increasing and dangerous use of NOX in Tower Hamlets.

Despite law changes, avoidable harm is still occurring from #nitrousoxide. Nothing holds manufacturers to account. This tank = 250 whippets 😅 Despite risks of neurological disability, no nationwide education strategy has been outlined. Communities must educate themselves!
