Many Lebanese officials celebrating Assad’s fall today are ones that continuously called for mass deportations of Syrians to Syria, & into Assad’s dungeons, despite warnings by rights orgs May this be a moment of reckoning for world leaders. Syria was never safe under Assad.

To all those who wanted so desperately to declare #Syria as safe for refugee returns, I hope you watch these scenes and feel shame and remorse. To all those that revoked protection and deported thousands: This should be a reckoning.

Palestinians don’t need your sympathy or your symbolic gestures. We need you to cut ties with our killers and colonizers. We need you to boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel. Yes that includes academic institutions, whose commitment to genocide is well documented.
