Over 500 third-grade students learned about anthropods, hexapods and more at the 2024 MSU Insect Fair. Sponsored by the #MSUAg Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology, the fair provided hands-on activities for students.

Last week was a busy one for the staff of the MEM. We had a team getting an NSF REU/RET grant submitted, a team on a joint expedition with the UMMZ and a one-man team in Florida.

Please join us in congratulating Jennifer Seltzer, a MEM staff member, on her promotion to Research Program Manager, responsible for supervising the Eastern Regional Screening Center, Mississippi Bug Blues, and managing budget and proposal submissions for the MEM.

Jireh Mwamukonda, a graduate student in the MEM, will spend the next three weeks at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, where she will work alongside Dr. Dan Otte and Greg Cowper examining grasshopper specimens from Malawi.
