Ss celebrated #EarthDay in STEM this week. Some classes planted seeds, others made flower seed balls to attract butterflies, used Mr. Trash Wheel as example to make a robot to clean the Earth or designed tool with recyclables to pick up litter. So impressed w/ Ss work @DLPinamonti

Valentine's Day in STEM. Prek Ss create bobbing hearts and learn the secret to the bob is in the twist around the finger! 1st graders are challenged to build a tower with conversation hearts and popsicle sticks. Hawthorne Elementary

Continuing our "Life on the Farm" unit, kindergartners learned how to make butter from creme today. There was a lot of 'shaking' going on. Ss were excited to discover the liquid became a solid in 3 minutes! JudyCenter@Hawthorne Hawthorne Elementary

Today was very quiet in The STEM room as the chickens have left for the farm. Friday, Ss came by to say their good-byes; PreK gathered around the chicken cage to "wish the chickens well." Thank you JudyCenter@Hawthorne for giving our Ss this wonderful learning experience Eric Cromwell
