Today the kids took time to read a classmates monster writing and draw what they thought it looked like based on their writing. 👹 Old Hundred Elementary School


After the drawing, the kids shared and revealed their drawings. Some were similar, and some were not . The kids listened to feedback, and realized maybe there were some important features they forgot to share. Description was very important in this activity. Old Hundred Elementary School


Friday we created our Candy Solar System models. The kids started with looking into their provided bag and deciding why each candy comparison was selected. We then created the candy tents for each planet to place on the correct orbits. Old Hundred Elementary School


We then started the place the plants on the orbit based on their location from closest to the sun, to farthest away. Each planet had a candy comparison that was scaled to represent them. Old Hundred Elementary School


What better way to assess the kids knowledge on planets?! Lastly, we used their product they created to assess their knowledge of the planets order from the sun, as well as characteristics. ☀️🌎☄️ Old Hundred Elementary School


Our Jamestown Forts were a huge success ! The kids were so creative, and no two forts were the same ! The kids showed perseverance and worked so hard with their teams. Old Hundred Elementary School

We reviewed Ecosystems with Quizlet Live. Quizlet Live is a classroom game that allows students to work together to answer questions from a study set. The kids had to collaborate, and work as a team to answer questions. Old Hundred Elementary School





What better way to read about Irish soda bread, than to eat it? Today the kids completed a informational text recipe on how to make Irish soda bread. While answering questions, they got to snack on some Irish soda bread. ☘️ Talk about real world connections ! 🌎 Old Hundred Elementary School


Glow Day was a huge success! Students were engaged, working hard, and excited to show what they know. We dove into the science of glowing by learning about bioluminescent animals, how glow sticks light up, and the wonders of fluorescent coral. Old Hundred Elementary School


In honor of Earth Day, our class participated in several meaningful activities focused on environmental awareness and responsibility. We had thoughtful discussions about the many ways they can make a difference and take better care of our planet. 🌍 Old Hundred Elementary School


Our Reading Carnival was a huge success! 🎡🎟️ The students had a blast reviewing a variety of reading concepts through carnival-themed task cards, a homemade funnel cake recipe, a summer carnival flyer, and much more. Who says reviewing reading can’t be fun? Old Hundred Elementary School

Our students became the teachers today! We kicked off our Teach the Teacher presentations, where students created and taught their own lessons—materials, quizzes, and all! It’s been amazing learning from them and seeing their creativity in action. Old Hundred Elementary School
