Our students came together this year to create a school pennant banner for our Terry Fox Run. Even if we couldn’t run together, we could be together. It turned out beautiful! We have more than doubled our fundraising goal this year. Thank you to everyone who participated!❤️

In Visual Art, we are exploring art forms and styles. We looked closely at the artwork of Wassily Kandinsky, who is famous for his contributions to abstract art. We learned how he used a lot of colour, geometric and organic shapes, and lines to create a harmonious composition.

For Veterans’ Week we learned about Vimy Ridge, discussed the origin and meaning of the poem In Flanders Fields, reflected on a variety of articles in our writing journals, and painted water colour poppies. And, we participated in our virtual Remembrance Day assembly.❤️

Our class had some fun this week with our Franklin Spirit Week. They worked together to decorate our beautiful photo booth classroom door! We wrapped up the week with our virtual school concert. Miss Maxmen It was brilliant! Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday. ❄️ ⛄️ ❤️

We have been building our appreciation for the important role geometry plays in art. We have been applying the creative process to produce our own artwork using our understanding of perspective and the four quadrants of the Cartesian Plane. I wish I could show them all. ⭐️

It’s hard to stay sad when receiving so many heartwarming messages, cards, and gifts from my students. I’m grateful. So immensely grateful. I’m going to miss each and every one of you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being you.❤️

Our first week back after our break has been wonderful! Students are enjoying their new environment and working together. The snow has piqued our curiosity and we’ve starting exploring how snow crystals are formed, where it comes from, and how it changes.❄️💜 William Armstrong PS

From all our learning inside and outside, our first Star Student presentations, our Lunar New Year assembly, Ms. Sarich introducing us to coding art, and our PJ Day… we’ve had a busy and fun week! 🫶🏼

We had a lot of fun outdoors this week! We even tried snowshoeing! We stomped like a bear, danced, and helped each other up. It was lovely to see and hear! We also scouted for tracks in the snow and tried to figure out what animal it could be! Lots and lots of joy! 🐾 ❄️ 💕

Some of the things we were up to last week - we explored our new light table, parachuted in the gym, had some fun outdoors on the days it didn’t rain, and continued with our learning adventures in our centres. 💞

We’ve been learning so much over the past few weeks! We’re learning about 2D shapes and how they relate to 3D shapes, we’re continuing to build our literacy skills, we opened a bakery, we’re exploring the world, we made sculptures, and we’ve created some beautiful self portraits!

Such a fun way to start March Break! We used our 5 senses when we made our own popcorn today, learned the science behind this fluffy goodness, and had a wonderful time in our PJs. Wishing everyone a wonderful and restful March Break! 🫶🏼

Here’s a snapshot of some of the exploring and learning we have done over the past couple of weeks. Spring has sparked all kinds of fascinating learning opportunities. ☀️🪱🌱

Our visit to space was incredible! While soaring, we saw planets, stars, including our very own star - our sun, and galaxies far away. We knew a little about our sun already through our sun provocation. We’re going to explore galaxies next week. 🌌
