Hi Team English - what examples do you give to your classes of individual speeches to show them what is expected of them in the NEA - we've previously used Jack Petchey Speak Out ones, but dept feedback says these are 'too polished' - any advice? #teamenglish

Darling Team English - Has anyone done a course reader/booklet with the script of Much Ado? Or even has the script of Much Ado as a Word Document rather than a pdf they'd be willing to send me? Forever grateful! #teamenglish

#teamenglish - I'm mid writing a year 7 'Introduction to Poetry' scheme - So far I've dealt with the terms form, structure and language and have so far looked at some romantic poetry and nature poetry etc. If you could teach one poem/technique/form to year 7 - what would it be?

#teamenglish - has anyone made a digital version of an assessment for students who type? I wanted to make a document with the questions on that the students can enter their answers and then print the final document - any ideas?

You DID teach them. I know you're worried you didn't. You DID cover the material, they HAVE practised. Honestly. I know the voice in your head is saying they didn't learn anything...but they did!

#teamenglish Please can I see some beautiful & useful displays for secondary English? I'm lacking in inspiration and have a nice empty board waiting for love!

I've been using Diffit and created a resource that explores the politics of AIC, the Inspector and links these to the opening of The Communist Manifesto ("A spectre is haunting Europe—the spectre of communism"). 1/4 app.diffit.me/packet/a830da7…

Hi #teamenglish - I'm trying to adapt our ks3 curriculum to include more focus on the writing *process* - drafting, redrafting editing etc. Has anyone got any blogs or articles talking about this/any suggestions for what helps in your classroom?

Hey #TeamEnglish 👋 I haven’t shared anything in a while so here’s what I’ve been working on recently. We have been focussing on teaching David Didau’s Creative Sentence Types so I have made a display for our KS3 students focussing on the ones we have looked at so far:

Glorious #teamenglish - has anyone adapted any AQA Lang paper 1 Q1s for the changes to the paper? I've seen the sample papers, but want to get my head around it a little bit more so I can write my own! Thank you 🙏

Talking to Year 11 today about Macbeth questions - one says back to me - "I saw on youtube that Lady Macbeth only comes up once every five years, so it won't be her for us." Jolly good then - appears Youtubers now plan the questions for AQA. Sigh.
