Round 2 of Osbourn Park Parent Involvement: today we discussed how to help your student prepare for college or trade school.

The 3rd Osbourn Park Parent Involvement class took place tonight. Topic discussed-The Growth MindSet. Parents were EXCITED to hear about ways to promote their childrens’ success!

Mentoring Program

So many parents showed up to our Osbourn Park Parent Involvement (OPPI) meeting tonight that we could not take a group picture. But we did capture a picture of those educators who made this night possible! Topic: Schedules for next year.

Our last OPPI meeting was tonight and our guest speaker was Ms. Kane, OPHS Principal. She showed our ELL parents, specifically our Latino/Latinx community, that language should not be a barrier for parental involvement and relationship building.

Today I was able to sit next to Carol Salva, an accomplished author for ALL things English Language Learners. Her book, “Boosting Achievement,”was such a big resource for me while brainstorming strategies for students with interrupted education.

DOLA was invited to perform at Signal Hill Elementary. My high schoolers did an excellent job performing and being a role model for the younger children.💃🏽❤️

Today was a great day! I was able to gain wisdom from two strong female leaders in PWCS. Thank you to Dr. Colon and Ms. Kane for presenting to the Daughters of Latin America Mentoring Program. I so appreciate your support for DOLA!❤️🌹

Today, one of my ELL students gave me a sticker and thanked me for helping her. I asked her why she chose this quote for me, and she said, "Because you are always telling me to give my best at everything. And now I want to remind you to never give up on what you do for us."

So true. 🧡

I'm a proud mom. My youngest child won 1st place in his school’s Spelling Bee. Three months of preparation paid off! As I told him, it's not the win but the process that makes you a winner!
