Our last 2 weeks were filled with practicing our literacy skills. We found trick words and vowel teams, practiced word families and matched upper and lower case letters! We tie dye painted with Emily and made puffy paint! Excited to start our final 2 weeks 🐠☀️🏖️

We practiced building our skills to master level 1 of our perspective progression by identifying and analyzing important details about a character to gain an understanding of their life and experiences. This helps us consider others’ perspectives in our own lives! #mineolaproud

Today learners engaged in a “Placemat Discussion” around a shared text. This protocol allows for both independent reflection & collaborative group consensus. Was excited to try this strategy after learning it this week from a workshop with IDE Corp. ! #mineolaproud

9th grade learners worked on understanding word choice, mood, and connotation in poetry by swapping out words in Robert Frost’s “Fire and Ice” 🔥❄️

We’re excited to invite you to a special presentation by Dr. Peg Dawson, an expert on helping students build the skills they need to stay focused, manage time, and get things done. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain tools that can make a real difference at home and in school.
