I love love love this movie. It gutted me as a kid.

I was fortunate to have Douglas Kirkland on the set of my second feature, DOWN WITH LOVE. The perfect photographer to capture the vibrant early 60s vibe we were going for. He will be missed.

Lenny Lipton’s The Super 8 Book was my bible when I was making short films as a kid in the 70s and 80s. He was an experimental filmmaker, a 3D pioneer, and he also wrote the poem that “Puff, the Magic Dragon” was based on. A real inspiration. Rest In Peace, Lenny.

One of my favorite Angela Lansbury performances is in Frank Capra’s STATE OF THE UNION (1948). It’s a lesser- known (and underrated) Capra film, and Lansbury steals the movie from Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn.
