From painting a picture to building a model – how might you encourage Ss to create visual representations of what they've learned? (Inspired by T Matt Ledwell) #InstantPD #tlap #AlwaysLearning #PLN #ELA

Treat people right. Appreciate them, encourage them, support them and make them feel like they matter (because they do). Do this at home, at work, at school, at the store, etc. Do this with people you know and people you don't. Try your best every day to make someone else's day.

Alright #edutwitter, I’m doing some brainstorming this weekend … what’re some fun summative assessment ideas to gauge student comprehension that are not traditional quizzes/exams? (i.e.: TikTok, rap battle, pitch a video game design, etc) #teachertwitter 🍎

As we begin another year - never forget a child’s school experience is often the first and last conversation in a child’s home - “Have a great day” & “How was you’re day?” Let’s ensure it is a conversation to celebrate & remember!

Idk who needs to hear this today but standarized testing is an acquired skill that measures testing aptitude and wealth— not intelligence. You are more than your test scores.

I remember a teacher telling me: “When you’re surrounded by superstars… it makes you want to be better than you are.” That’s the power of collaboration -- the power of positive peer pressure. The best teachers don’t just inspire their students; they inspire their colleagues.

I would rather lose books than readers. If we accept the fact that we are in the business of losing books, can we be satisfied with a 90% return rate of books and 100% return rate of students?
