The Tories want to cut stamp duty for first time buyers. Fair enough - stamp duty is a terrible tax. But the evidence shows that cutting stamp duty *increases* house prices. It's pointless. There is a better way.

In Kettering today with Rachel Reeves & Rosie Wrighting MP Growing up I spent holidays here. My grandparents worked in shoe factories so it was good to visit CheaneyShoes & speak with families at Morrisons. Rosie will be a brilliant champion for an area that means a lot to me.
