After a certain age, you have to decenter your parents’ opinions. Everyone around me who is genuinely fulfilled has successfully set boundaries with their parents. Those who haven’t are miserable in one or multiple aspects of their lives.

ngl i completely understand why some people go off the grid and live their lives in private as i get older.

"Communication is key" but so is a sense of understanding. If I tell you something and you're not willing to see where I'm coming from, then what's the point of telling you anything.
