As part of my doctoral research on "Constitutional Legitimacy," I had the chance to interview Alberto Acosta, former President of the 2008 Constituent Assembly in Ecuador. Thanks to Alberto Acosta for his time and insights!

Mexico’s Supreme Court said “criminalization of abortion constitutes an act of gender-based violence and discrimination. It perpetuates the stereotype that women can only exercise their sexuality to procreate, reinforcing gender roles that impose motherhood as a destiny.”

This excellent initiative from ICON•S encourages more women to participate in spaces still dominated by men. It also normalizes the idea that we can have a successful career while raising a family. As a PhD student and mother, I hope to see more initiatives like this in the US.

I am excited to visit Boston College Law School to meet with my mentor, Professor Paulo Barrozo. He was incredibly generous during my time as a Visiting Scholar there.
