This week we are celebrating #VolunteersWeek by highlighting the vital work our volunteers carry out, without them we couldn't do what we do 💜 From mentoring young people to helping distribute surplus food at our social enterprise FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland thank you to every one of you!

🥳Celebrations across our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices for #VolunteersWeek! Our volunteers bring a wealth of skills, experience, expertise, enthusiasm and energy. Seeing our volunteers learn from each other and how they support their young people is a privilege 🫶

Before Daisy* was matched up with one of our mentors, she had low self-esteem; Now, Daisy says, "You've really inspired me to go out and give life a try." Thank you to our volunteer mentors for showing up for our young people 💜 #VolunteersWeek * Names have been changed.

This #VolunteersWeek we are also celebrating the volunteers that keep our social enterprise FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland ticking 📦 👉 During 2024-25 76 volunteers contributed 15,600 hours, enabling us to redistribute 1700 tonnes of food across schools, homeless hostels and community centres!

👏 Thank you to Tesco Stronger Starts for £1,000 towards cooking packs for young people & families in our intandem mentoring service! The packs encouraged fun cooking & cake baking sessions, learning new recipes and 'winter warmer' packs 🥣 #tescostrongerstarts

Our Edinburgh Social Group had a creative drawing & painting evening session, following a Bob Ross tutorial and discussing the links between creativity and mental wellbeing 🖌️ The group meet monthly in our Edinburgh office, with a mix of current and past mentees!

Vince felt very isolated when referred to our mentoring service. 🤝When matched with a mentor, their connection was instant with common interests such as video games and Japanese culture! This was a great foundation that blossomed into a trusting and meaningful relationship.
