How do you keep moving forward, progressing towards a better state, when the negative of self and society loom so large as to be insurmountable? I do it like this: i think and believe that change is possible. In me and in my society. Then I act like it is so.

Find the root cause of being annoyed at someone. It's most likely because you aren't acting in a way that's congruent with your beliefs about yourself.

Stuff, things, objects, events, circumstances, places... All these things have no intrinsic worth or value. They really don't. Humans are the ones, with our thoughts, beliefs and values, that put worth on those things. Accepting that is freedom; it is accepting reality.

Turn your inevitable loss into a willing sacrifice. You "have" to do something? Turn it around to something you want to do. We all will die, so might as well live a life that brings everyone, including yourself, joy.

Life is a want/cost analysis. Everything costs something: time, money, effort, morals, other wants... Plug what you want into the equation. Wants = Costs Then figure out the cost. If you're willing to pay it, then do it. The trick is assessing the true cost.

I was very stressed last night, ready to blow up at the kids. I told them what I was feeling. My 9 yr old sang me a song... If you feel so mad that you want to roar Then take a deep breath and count to four So I did it. And I felt more calm.

It's good to push yourself to change. It's just as important to take breaks and recuperate. The ol sharpen the axe axiom.

I like checklists and formulas, organization and routines. They give me railroad tracks upon which to set my train. The good and bad of this is that it leaves my mind free to wonder. And my challenge now is how to do things better instead of what to do.

When you start thinking negatively about someone, shortcircuit that downward spiral by saying something you admire about them out loud to their face.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. It means you need to gather more data, conduct more research, gain more knowledge, and increase your wisdom. Evaluate your sources, confront your biases, reset your expectations.
