Always a great day when Piedmont Wildlife Center comes by with their awesome animals! Our third graders saw a box turtle, red shouldered hawk, barred owl, corn snake, and rabbit! We even had the chance to touch a few of the animals! 😍 Thank you Ms. Noelle for the fantastic presentation!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌿☀️ The third grader completed a school beautification project and cleaned up our Washington GT Magnet campus! Even our friends who wanted nothing to do with it initially, ended up being the most competitive and determined to fill their bag!

It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with the end of the school year chaos. Never ending to do lists, EOG review, cleaning up, saying goodbye.. What’s something out of your norm that made you happy recently? For me, it’s the discover of a nest in the wreath on my front door 😍🐣

I love sharing my son with my students. They constantly ask to see pictures and hear stories about him. A student handed me a birthday card and told me to give it to him for his first birthday in July. If this isn’t the sweetest card ever 😭

Well it’s here.. It’s the last day of school. I have so many emotions today as I soak in my last, last day of school after 4 years at Washington GT Magnet 💙💛 I’m so excited for my new school but saying goodbye is pulling at the heart strings today.

One of my biggest regrets from college is not taking a class with Nikki Giovanni. I attended an event once where she sat a few rows ahead of me. Her presents and energy could be felt from a distance. I was speechless being near someone so incredible.

For the past month, my student has stood in the hallway and said Good Morning to every Third Grader. For the past two days, a friend has joined him. I didn’t assign them to this job - they just wanted to bring joy to other students in the morning. Kindness matters 💛
