Are student loans really charged at RPI +3%? Given RPI is over 11% that is going to be terrifying for a generation who has to pay 9% of earnings over £27k and will likely find their debt still rising. That’s going to be an electoral issue.

Dear media: The earth warms and cools in a cyclical manner and mankind can do nothing to stop it. Nature is going to do what it's going to do and giving the government $1.6 quadrillion to try to control the climate is the very definition of lunacy. It is the ultimate in futility.

Worried about inflation? - you should be: On the 25-11-20, the Chancellor announced that from 2030, index-linked gilts will no longer be linked RPI, but the newer CPIH, saving government an estimated £2 billion a year. Holders of index-linked gilts will receive no compensation.

Updated picture with latest data from Nationwide. Please don't shoot the messenger - this is just data. First time buyer prices in London are falling, but could *potentially* fall a lot further (30% to 50%) in 'earnings adjusted' terms before reaching a more 'normal' price

Remarkable fact that a bigger fraction of the over 65s than of working age adults now pay income tax. First time ever that has been true.

These are the important budget numbers. £127b, £105b, £ 88.5b, £72.2b, £71.9b £70.6b. They are the numbers that increase the National Debt over the next 6 years. They are additions to the total and require ever increasing finance which takes funds away from real spending
