The Labour government are continuing to be grotesquely arrogant, pig-headed and fundamentally wrong on their inheritance tax on family farms. They are putting thousands of family farms and rural supply chain industries into enormous financial jeopardy. Absolutely shameful.

Tory MP attempts to gag criticism of assisted dying committee after Down Syndrome vote . Terrible that this amendment was voted down. However it should have been for all people with learning disabilities, the voiceless who need protection. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi

Disabled man filmed eating from bin: ITV News exposes 'appalling' neglect by major UK care company  | ITV News. Cruelty beyond any understanding. What have we become? itv.com/news/2025-03-0

So much of the assisted dying/suicide committee discussion is around mental capacity. Yet again lamenting absence of Dr Ben Spencer on this committee. He is the single MP with background in psychiatry plus PhD in decision-making capacity. He offered to serve on the committee.

These flowers are for all mothers of children who require 24 hour care. They would thank you if they were able to do so. You are all amazing. I know what strength and love it takes to get through each day. And today especially. Huge hug and love and admiration.

BREAKING: The UK's biggest business groups have come together to warn the government that the Employment Rights Bill will "stifle innovation, productivity and growth" - they say "the Bill will have deeply damaging implications for the government’s priority growth mission"

Mike Gardner (@mikegardner_wb) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The unmitigated disaster that is Rayner’s awful “Employment Rights” bill is another hammer blow to the economy. Coming after Reeves’ calamitous budget, it’s as if Ministers are competing to see which one can do the most damage to the UK in the shortest possible time.

This letter, in today’s Times, stopped me in my tracks. The assisted dying Bill will affect all of society, in ways that have barely been considered.
