Our gold team just had an AMAZING weekend at State! We ended with a top 10 finish and competed in the final round! Wheeling is the first school in d214 HISTORY to make it in the top 10 back-to-back. We are so proud of all of the hard work that everybody has put in this season!

As the school year comes to a close, it’s time to honor our seniors. First up, we have Tisha Patel! A first-year member entering the well with confidence on cross and closing! Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Next up, we have our senior, Poli Tzarevski, a two-year member! Poli has mainly participated in Mock Trial as an energetic witness, but has also delivered opening and closing statements. Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Our next senior is Maryam Abbas! This was her third year in Mock Trial, where she showcased in-depth analysis and analogies as an expert witness! Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Next up, we have our senior, Kylie Delfosse! A three-year member, Kylie specialized in Opening and Closing, was quick on her feet with Rebuttals, and also dabbling in Cross! Have fun and don’t forget to visit!

We have our next Senior, Yahir Aguilar! Yahir is a four-year member who acted as humorous witnesses! Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Our next Senior is Ariel Lozner! Ariel has been a member for four years and is quick to adapt to witness responses on Cross and Direct examination. Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Paige Warner is our next Senior! She has been an outspoken member for four years working on Cross and Opening! Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Last but not least, we have our Senior, Sarah Weiser! A four year member, she has been a compelling expert witness and formed strong arguments in both Opening and Direct! Have fun, and don’t forget to visit!

Congratulations to Paige Warner for being selected as the recipient for the Mock Trial Scholarship at yesterday’s Awards Assembly! Additional shout-outs to all of our new alums who received awards including a special shout out to Civics AND Principal’s Award winner Maryam Abbas!

Yesterday morning, we got to meet the class of 2029 at Freshman Orientation. It was wonderful to meet new members and share more about our program. We can’t wait for a fun new season with you all, starting when we meet on October 20th!

As the leaves turn and the weather starts to get cooler, Mock trial is warming up for a brand new season. Join Mock Trial on Monday, October 20th for an informational meeting at 3:20pm in the Law room(243). Whether you know a lot about law or nothing at all, everyone is welcome!

Meet our new captain, Osmar Leyva, a senior who has been in Mock Trial for four years. Osmar earned the Outstanding Attorney award and was a Top Ten Finalist at the 2025 ISBA Mock Trial Competition. Last season, Osmar specialized in direct and cross examination.

Meet our second new captain, Sophia Herrera, a junior who has been in Mock Trial for three years. Sophia was a Top Ten Finalist and performed in the final round at the 2025 ISBA Mock Trial Competition. Last season, Sophia specialized as a character witness.

Meet our new social media chair, Eliana O’Connor, a senior who has been in Mock Trial for three years. Eliana earned the Outstanding Witness award and was a Top Ten Finalist at the 2025 ISBA Mock Trial Competition. Last season, Eliana specialized as a character witness.

Meet our new Recruitment chair, Rhea Patel, a junior who has been in Mock Trial for three years. Rhea earned Outstanding Witness and was a Top Ten Finalist at the 2025 ISBA Mock Trial competition. Last season she specialized as an expert witness.
