Troopers are responding to numerous crashes, spinouts and jackknifed semis in northern Minnesota tonight. Here's what we're seeing along I-94 in Barnesville. Luckily, this semi driver was not hurt. Drive slow and stay updated on road conditions at 511mn.org.

Our troopers stayed busy during the winter storm. From Wednesday to 8:30 AM today: • 239 vehicles off the road • 175 property damage crashes • 23 injury crashes • 1 fatal crash • 6 jackknifed semis Minnesota weather is unpredictable, so always drive safely.

Early Saturday, a fleeing suspect caused a crash in Inver Grove Heights. As troopers responded to assist, the suspect ran a red light and T-boned another driver. This is the reality of working on the roads. Our troopers are always just feet away from high-speed traffic.

After recent wildfires, Trooper Andrew Haken rushed to a grass fire near Virginia on May 20. "I knew it would be imperative to get there quickly." He used his fire extinguisher & a shovel, joining deputies and a resident to stop the spread.

Street racing is illegal and dangerous. Troopers recently arrested five for reckless driving — cars were impounded. These events often involve violent felons, guns, impaired drivers and blocked roads. Don’t risk lives. We’re cracking down.

A powerful reminder: seat belts save lives. Two semis crashed Wednesday morning on Interstate 94 near the County Road 10 overpass in Otter Tail County. One went off the road and down an embankment. All drivers survived, thanks to seat belts.
