My student-teacher taught an engaging lesson on dental hygiene. We guessed some famous Disney teeth, talked about plaque and bacteria, and gave our “teeth” a good brush. She consolidated their learning with a class discussion afterwards. KanataHighlands

I’m so honoured and grateful to have received the FESA UOttawa Peer Excellence Award this year! It’s awarded to a student who has been nominated by their peers in the B.Ed program at uOttawa for exceptional dedication to education, friendship, and support of their peers 😊

Reunited with my Grade 1 students from my practicum this year at KanataHighlands! I joined them as a volunteer on their field trip to the Canadian Museum of Nature. We attended a workshop all about beavers and dams, and got to explore the various exhibits! 🦖🦫🦅🐜

Painting with dandelions! 💛 Today in Grade 3 art, we collected some dandelions from outside and used them to colour our drawings yellow! The students loved it.. Such a fun way to incorporate nature!

Watercolour flower garden art in Grade 4! We used white oil pastels or crayons to add detail to the flower outline before painting. Students were encouraged to *not* paint in the lines. I love how these turned out! 🌷🌻🌹

I am now about halfway through my M.Ed degree with a concentration in Societies, Cultures, and Languages at uOttawa Education. I have been learning a lot about educational policy, anti-racism, comparative education, and L2 teaching. 📚 Super excited to continue my learning!
