New Paper on isotopes and tuna out by Adam Andrews, SeaChanges PhD student: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…
Delighted to see our article in collaboration with Archaeology UoYork out in fsbi onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jf… We looked at the variation in stable isotopes across vertebrae 🦴 centra in Atlantic bluefin tuna 🐟 and found multiple years of foraging behavior are likely archived!
Still time to apply for this #stableisotope postdoc in my research group. Deadline 8th of May. Looking for someone to take over from the amazing Dr Hazel Reade 🏳️🌈 who is moving on to new pastures.
So happy to welcome our first student to the new archaeobotany lab at Archaeology UoYork working on isotopic analysis of cereal crops from Medieval Spain with Prof Michelle Alexander BioArCh University of York Paleo Hub
Really excited for more results for the Landscapes of (Re)conquest exploring crop management!
Lab work was done at the University of Groningen, University of Copenhagen Research (with Dr. Alberto Taurozzi) and BioArCh (with Prof Michelle Alexander) After many hours in various (lovely) labs we managed to gain the data to identify species (palaeoproteomics) and diet information (stable isotope analysis)!

New paper out! Really happy to have been part of this exciting study on archaeological tuna isotopes with all round excellent researcher Adam J. Andrews
A great group of researchers to be part of :) Go Crop History Consortium!
