Michael Longley reading his celebrated poem ‘Ceasefire’ for me this weekend to remind us of the work yet to be done at the heart of which is the need for forgiveness.

One last thing before the year’s out - I’ve got something new in Ey Up 3, a great anthology of northern writers from Written Off Publishing . Full of inspiring stuff, I’m evidently in good company.

I had trouble choosing a poem on the theme of 'Myth', as I have two which fit the bill, but here is a taste of Celtic mythology for TopTweetTuesday and our host Margaret Royall.

I love that we both turned to Celtic mythology – what else? – and that you wove phrases from Down by the Salley Gardens through your poem, Jane. I also love the phrases ‘wreathed in foam as in a lover’s arms’, ‘milky wreathed star-net’ and ‘tines of antlered bone-tree’.

Hello, Poets and host Margaret Royall! As usual, I've left a work assignment till the last minute, so I'm going to post a revised poem for the #myth theme for TopTweetTuesday I'll be back tomorrow to read! 😅

Sorry, no pics. The religious tyranny of Providence is cracking. A legend, the Green Woman’s daughter is returning. Unfortunately, no one has told the Legend who is locked in prison for sedition. Havok, the arch fiend knows and intends to snuff her out. #P2Ppit #YA #F #Q

Dear TopTweetTuesday Alice Stainer et al this everyday celebration poem will probably be my last TTT on this platform. It feels too much like collaboration with the enemy. When you move to Bluesky I'll be waiting.
