As Krishnamurti spelled out clearly, the choice will be either pursuing external gratification / entertainment (super compelling desire gratification via personalized AI partners, etc) or to go inward, and find out what we are / how we work..

Oh yeah! The way I'd say it is that the human being is a Universal Simulator: Anything we drop into the inner depths of our hearts (intentions, desires, hopes, fears, prayers) is reflected back, strengthened, amplified, pulled towards us. β„οΈπŸ©΅β™Ύ

The subtle / tricky thing is thought tends to come back in too soon, and to want to take claim for / explain whatever is unfolding.. There are indeed vast energies, moving through many bodies, many minds. But we invite them in, through our intentions, which we can choose! πŸŒŠπŸ©΅πŸ’

If things feel stressful, I ask myself, 'VAI?': Volition: There is no need to 'do' anything. Action unfolds. Attention: Where is the spotlight of attention going? Is it narrow, or wide? Coarse, or subtle? Intentions: What do I want? To be free, still, blissful. πŸ€”πŸ©΅πŸŒŠ

Hunting for our friends' fearspheres, until the tribe of hunters are fearless charioteers of Krishna, ready to take on divine duty, huh? Yeah, there is virtue in this, even kindness.. tho personally, a more space-like / gentle / receptive approach tends to be my style. πŸ”πŸ©΅πŸͺ©

Lots to unpack here, thanks for raising these questions! On 'what we ("the west") subbed in': Nothing satisfactory, just a hodgepodge of atomized 'spiritual' practices + consumerism. Look at esp. food marketed as healthy, all clouds and blissful women laughing w/ salads. πŸ₯¬πŸ©΅πŸ˜‡

This exists! It's inner mystical vision: When the human brain and it's gigantic visual cortex no longer receives input from the environment, and thought is dormant / knows its place as following clear perception, vast vistas of beauty unseen by any eyes unfolds, inside us. πŸ‘οΈπŸ©΅πŸŒŠ

What sure *doesn't* work is following the object level & disregarding the vibes, attempting to answer what was said in words.. (used to make this mistake a LOT). Now I tend to do a vibe check: Hey are you okay? Is there something on your mind / somewhere you'd rather be? πŸ€”πŸ©΅πŸ¦‹

holy cow, McKenna was 100% right when he said the universe is promoting novelty. it rewards agents who: 1) successfully perform dimensionality reduction for hyperobjects they sense 2) synesthetically translate across different planes of expression x.com/wave1martian/s…

It's not at all an active 'doing', to me..more like: remain still, let energy move where it wants to, stay equanimous when challenging sensations arise, and the bodymind itself knows what to do to heal itself. Remembering that thought follows (does not lead) also helps. πŸ¦‹πŸ©΅πŸŒΏ

I love it! Let's get better at hill climbing together, build mountain cabins to rest and restock on supplies, and find binoculars to see beyond the local maxima and build better maps. β›°οΈπŸ©΅πŸ—ΊοΈ

Robin Hanson T.S. Eliot: "The chief use of the β€˜meaning’ of a poem, in the ordinary sense, may be (for I am speaking of some kinds of poetry and not all) to satisfy one habit of the reader, to keep his mind diverted and quiet, while the poem does its work upon him: much as the imaginary

A sandbox, where we can play out our youthful dramas for as long as we want, and once we are ready, toddle out into the wider playground, wide-eyed with wonder, and a little more sensitive to the existence and desires of others. πŸ§ΈπŸ©΅πŸ¦‹

Good question! I would go from fixed goals (an image / projection made by thought, based on the previously known) to intentions: I want freedom, stillness, bliss; I don't have to worry about 'how to achieve my goals', just to remain aware, and my intentions unfold. πŸ’πŸ©΅πŸ¦‹
