Let the teacher journey commence 🍎👩🏻‍🏫 An exciting induction week full of insightful presentations about the PGDE course and our teaching profession. Looking forward to getting stuck in to the course content and ticking off the SPR boxes 👩🏻‍💻

Today’s uni triumph! Coming from a nutrition background, textiles is a whole new challenge for me! Phone cover I made in today’s practical… progress not perfection 😅

A fun day yesterday, developing our lesson planning and understanding how to break down practicals into the timing over multiple lessons. Always a bonus when you come away from uni with cake 🧁🎃

Week 1 of placement ✅ Lots of learning and lots of Halloween cakes! 🧁🎃 Pupils got to learn/practice their fondant modelling and icing feathering. Looking forward to increasing some team teaching next week making Chakalaka Relish (S1) and Firecracker Chicken Pasta (S2).

Placement week 2 has been very busy 😅✅ S1 made Chakalaka Relish as part of their new topic looking at how culture can influence food choice 🇿🇦 S2 made a firecracker chicken pasta 🌶️, practicing their techniques boil and simmer. First solo teach incoming next week 🤗

Week 3 and 4 of placement have been so busy I almost forgot to take any pictures! S1 this week made homemade chips and curry sauce this week, looking at peer pressure as another factor affecting food choice. Safe to say, these were delicious 😋

Observed lesson done ✔️ Time to get festive with Rudolph cupcakes this week with S1 & S2! Safe to say, these are going down a treat so far 🎄🎅🏼

The end of such a fab first teaching placement! I cannot thank the FCT team Larbert High School HWB enough. I made such amazing relationships with staff and pupils - the 8 weeks just flew by! I’ve left feeling more confident as a teacher. Huge thanks to my fabulous mentor Mrs Green FCT 🥳🥹🥰
