It’s always a good feeling when a student is shocked to find out that I’m 30 because they thought I was younger 😂

My last period has decided that, when their class is going on, I am 25 years old because they refuse to believe that I am actually 30 😂

So impressed with the work my students did today. Here are some examples of how great they are!

Starting last year, I’ve been working on covering my pencil dispenser with stickers. I love this sticker that one of my students gave me. As a fellow nerd, she gets it.

Yesterday I was scoring the girls volleyball game and a whole bunch of them got very excited when the score suddenly became 6 to 7 😂

I’m at a high school volleyball game to cheer on last year’s students and I love hearing the ace cheering in triplicate: the team on the court, the team on the sidelines, and those in the stands

The way one of my students rushed to change part of her assignment before the period ended when she realized (aka when I pointed it out) that using daniela avanzini would count. The power of #Katseye 😂

Our girls volleyball team officially finished their undefeated season !!!!!

Considering that I was never able to do sports growing up for medical reasons, the fact that I was invited to the volleyball end of season banquet for scoring all season was lowkey healing.

We did a matching/memory game last week and I had us check 6/7 first so we could get it out of the way. A kid decided to be smart and went for the next closest option: 6/17. It was a match. Next kid decided to try 16/7. Also a match 🤦‍♀️ I can’t escape it #teacherlife

I have a new student in my Crew/First Period. His name is Glen. He is very studious.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a school or somewhere else, I’m going to figure out a costume where I can flex my ability to make a fairly realistic bruise out of makeup. Our principal kept saying admin were being pirates and wanted people to join in, so I obliged. I defended my ship.

Part of my students’ online textbook allows them to make avatars for their profile. They’ve been having a lot of fun with it and most times their creativity makes their profile look nothing like them. Including this one that I swear looks like the early years of Al Yankovic 😂
