Also very pleased with my displays. The periodic table was put up and taken down a total of four times because it wasn’t straight enough for my liking lol. Shout out to my year 10s for doing the flower on the photosynthesis display in their last lesson of the autumn term 🌸

I was teaching children about the scale of the universe last week and realised they had absolutely no concept about how big numbers really are. They saw millions, billions and trillions as not much different...so I had to use some analogies to help them...

I’ve managed to avoid them for 25 years but I’ve just overcome my biggest fear and had my first ever blood test (pretty bad for a biology teacher to be scared of veins lol😅). Wasn’t that bad tbh but definitely using it as an excuse to eat lots of chocolate and not mark Y11 mocks

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you ever play YouTube videos in a classroom for example, and need to avoid the ads (as they are unpredictable), get the URL and put a hyphen between the T and the U in the word YouTube. The video will open full screen and wont have ads.

Those of you who have moved to teach in a British school in Kuwait... Did you go as a couple? If so how did you go about that. Also what are/were the pros and cons? Mr T's NQT/ECT support 🙋🏻‍♂️

YouTube is a free university. But there are more than 38,000,000 channels there and it's hard to find the good ones. Here are 10 channels that will make you smarter:

My first EVER bunch of GCSE students came out of their Biology exam beaming today! Come what may and however conceited this may sound - I'm taking this feeling, running with it and going for the slam dunk!!! This is why I became a teacher 🙌 #gcse2022 #gcsebiology

I am coming to the end of my teaching sequence with Year 8, which means we have some time to carry out scientific investigations and fun projects. They have asked to do a project on space. We have covered space as a topic already but does anyone have any fun project suggestions?

I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money. 1/
