Can you guess this week’s Traditional Tale? Reception carefully weighed and mixed ingredients to make the main character of our story but, like the villain of the tale, we couldn’t resist a bite! Together, we wrote our recipe. #SJSBEYFS #SJSBEnglish

Reception showed brilliant team work today while making a bridge that was safe and sturdy enough for the billy goat to cross. We made predictions, described and labelled our bridges and put our creations to the test! 🐐#scienceweek2022 #SJSBscience

Reception had a brilliant sport session with Coach Kayvon this week. We uses our footballs as steering wheels to weave in and out of cones, jump over speed bumps, crawl under tunnels and walk over bridges ⚽️🚙. #SJSBPE #SJSBEYFS

This morning, Reception enjoyed recapping the events of Easter. We used clues to find the Stations of the Cross around the school grounds and reflected at each of them. Our journey ended at the cross, where we prayed and thought of our own prayers. #sjsbliturgy #sjsbRE

To mark the start of the Easter Weekend, EYFS preformed the story of Easter together. We celebrated by sharing the news with our friends, “Jesus is alive!” This afternoon, we enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt and paraded our wonderful Easter Bonnets around school! #sjsbRE #sjsbEYFS

After reading this week’s brilliant book, Handa’s Surprise, Reception have enjoyed exploring fruit with all of their senses. After describing the taste of the fruit, we created prints to show how we can add pieces of fruit together. #SJSBEYFS #sjsbMaths

This morning, Reception have been learning about Pentecost and how the wind can symbolise the Holy Spirit. We listened to the sound of the wind and felt it on our skin. Watching the wind carry our bubbles away was so exciting. We can’t wait to test our wind streamers. #sjsbRE

🌸Class 2 enjoyed welcoming our visitors for our Stay and Pray session this morning. As May is the month of Mary, we have been thinking about how special our Mummies are. We marked our promise to be more like Jesus by offering our flowers to those that had joined us🌸. #sjsbRE

Reception have secretly been working away to write a card for their ‘Gardener’ to thank them for being wonderful role models and to wish them good luck at high school. We will miss sharing special times with them ⭐️ 🌱🌿🌳

🎉This afternoon, ALL of Class 2 enjoyed a chocolate milkshake because I couldn’t pick just one final ‘Hot Chocolate Award’ winner. Each child is so deserving for the hard work and kindness that they have shown all year 🌟🤍📝

Our ‘Gardeners’ came to visit their ‘Seeds’ this afternoon to share some quality time together. Thank you to the Year 6’s for taking the time to write such thoughtful, inspiring letters. You have all been such important role models to our Reception children. StJoseph StBede RCPS
